4 sesame seeded milk buns, halved
4 v2burger plant-based patties
4 slices of American of Hi-Melt Cheese
8 leafs of green oakleaf lettuce to serve
2 medium ripe truss tomatoes sliced to serve
1 large red onion sliced into rings to serve
⅓ cup of aioli
⅓ cup of tomato ketchup
¼ cup of American mustard
8 slices of pickles
3 tbsp olive oil
Salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
1
Preheat a BBQ plate or a pan on medium-high. Use half the olive oil and spread over the surface of the BBQ plate, and cook the v2burger patties for 2-3 minutes on each side. At the same time, sprinkle the surface of the v2burger patties with salt and freshly cracked pepper to create a caramelised crust.
2
Place a slice of American cheddar cheese on top of each v2burger pattie just before they are done. Then take off the BBQ plate when melted. Set aside and keep warm.
3
Spread the surface of the BBQ plate with the remaining olive oil, and place the milk buns cut down. Toast for 1 minute until golden as desired.
4
To serve, spread the top and bottom halves of the toasted milk buns with the aioli. Top with 2 leaves of the green oakleaf lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced red onion rings, and v2burger pattie. Dollop with tomato ketchup, American mustard, and 2 pickle slices. Cover with the milk bun tops.
